Julia Lawless has written extensively on Aromatherapy. Her books include the Encyclopaedia of Essential Oils and the Complete Guide to Aromatherapy, and others. She has a solid reputation as an expert in Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.

Alec Lawless concentrates on sourcing essential oils. Aqua Oleum aims to provide the highest quality, 100% pure and natural essential oils, and, equally importantly, to operate in an ethical, fair-trade manner in their relationships with both suppliers and customers. Aqua Oleum's goal is to provide the highest quality therapeutic grade, sustainably harvested, organically grown & pesticide-free, cruelty-free and fair-trade essential oils.

Aqua Oleum was started by Julia's mother. The family's knowledge in the study and research of essential oils goes back at least three generations.

The name Aqua Oleum comes from the latin words: Aqua (water) and Oleum (oil).
